The tour "Beat Haze Odyssey" became a very special one for me.
This was the very first tour that I saw Himuro's shows live, and I could
also experienced the live-house shows & the New Year show.
Thanks to Steve & Himuro, I had a chance to know you through this tour.
Well, I'd like to tell you about the live-house shows & New Year show.
They played 21 songs in the shows. The program was little different from
that I had seen before (at the Music Hall in Osaka).
In the Hall show, Himuro played 2 more songs with Steve & Honda's acoustic
guitars,
sitting at stools. I like that part, 'cause I love their sound, especially
Steve's
was very beautiful. (Of course I think Honda is also a wonderful musician)
At the live-house, I could see them very closer (That was like dreaming !)
and I felt that they relaxed & enjoyed playing from their LOVELY smiles. :-)
:-)
The 2nd day of the show, Himuro kept wearing sunglasses until the middle
of the program.
He said he had a sty in his eye. I was sorry to hear it & hoped he would
recover soon(until the New Year show).
But sorry to say, he kept wearing sunglasses all through the New Year show
and he never put off them. (I thought the sty became worse than before.)
So, everyone must have felt very sorry for that.
In contrast with Himuro, Steve played very active & powerful.
He was such a great entertainer that he moved right and left on the stage.
Sometimes he played next to Honda and performed in perfect harmony.
(I thought they were a good combination.)
The New Year's count down was very simple.
There were large screens at the sides of the stage and the time indication
appeared, then everyone started count down.
When it struck midnight, Himuro said "Welcome to the Funky Century !"
"Let's rush in the 21th century, all right ? "and started "Girls
Be
Glamorous"
Oh, I have to tell you about the new song "GONNA BE ROGUE?"
I first heard it in the live-house show, and thought "It's COOL".
So I'm sure you'll like it.
Anyway, I was lucky enough to see the 2001 in with Himuro & Steve.
I couldn't have been happier.
I'll never forget that.
